Pre­ston His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety host­ing open house Dec. 3

PRE­STON — The Pre­ston His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will host its third an­nual Christ­mas Open House, “A Very Vin­tage Christ­mas,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Satur­day, Dec. 3, at its mu­seum at 167 Main Street, Pre­ston. Guests will see the build­ing dec­o­rated for the hol­i­day while en­joy­ing home­made cook­ies and re­fresh­ments.

They also will have a chance to win door prizes and par­tic­i­pate in a 50/50 raf­fle, and goody bags will be handed out to chil­dren.

The so­ci­ety will be sell­ing Christ­mas cook­ies as well as its sec­ond an­nual Christ­mas or­na­ment, fea­tur­ing the old Pre­ston School which stood from 1918 to 1971, the cost is $16.94. A lim­ited num­ber of 2015 or­na­ment, fea­tur­ing the Noble House, also are for sale.

The mu­seum also will be open on Satur­day, Dec. 10, which will be the last day the mu­seum is open for the 2016 cal­en­dar year.
