Caroline students compete in Lego League
SALISBURY — Colonel Richardson and Lockerman middle schools each sent two teams of students to compete in the First Lego League Regional Qualifier, held Saturday, Dec. 10, at Salisbury Middle School.
Representing Colonel Richardson Middle School were the Creative Colonels and The Crazy Cougars; representing Lockerman Middle were The Lego Legends and The Le’Guardians.
Eighteen teams from across the region competed in categories of robot building and programming, research and presentation, and teamwork, or Core Values.
Lego Legends, from Lockerman, won first place overall and brought home the Champions Award trophy. This is a firstyear team, with two first-year coaches. The Le’Guardians took third place at the Robot Games. The Lockerman teams are coached by Trinia Honer and Josh Dunn.
The Creative Colonels earned a second place award in the Research category, and the Crazy Cougars earned a first place trophy in Core Values. The Crazy Cougars also earned the opportunity to travel to Baltimore on Feb. 25 for the state competition. The Colonel teams are coached by Rob Honer and Matthew Luongo.
