Community Club of Preston donates to PES
PRESTON — The Community Club of Preston got off to a busy start this fall, with three monthly membership meetings and four fundraising events.
As part of the club’s ongoing support of Preston Elementary School, club members collected winter outerwear and other apparel items at its Nov. 15 meeting and donated them to the school. The club also adopted a family at the school in need of assistance at Christmas and provided a brighter Christmas to the family.
Fundraising started in September with a bake sale table at the Outstanding Dreams Alpaca Festival, continued with both a Paint Night event and a fundraising day at Katie Mae’s Restaurant in October, and fundraising for the fall was wrapped up with an in-house food auction at the club’s November meeting.
The club made a donation to Clark Comprehensive Breast Center to thank it for its presentation at the October meeting and to help support the cause of breast cancer awareness and care.
The club’s next membership meeting will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Community Building, 114 Williamson Street, in Preston, and will include a presentation by the Caroline County Humane Society.
