Goose Bump Jump set for Jan. 21
DENTON — The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake is hosting the inaugural Goose Bump Jump, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, to raise money to make improvements at Camp Todd outside Denton in preparation for this coming summer’s camp programs.
Participants can take a dip in Lake Williston every hour on the hour, hanging out in the warm Todd Memorial Hall program center in between, dancing to DJprovided music, completing crafts or enjoying the hot beverages and food for sale. Participants can also skip the lake and just enjoy the activities in the program center if they prefer.
The cost is $7 per person for registrants ages 5 and up until Wednesday, Jan. 11; after Jan. 11, the cost is $10 per person. Day-of registrants are welcome.
To pre-register, email Cheryl Price at lindy4413@ yahoo.com.
Ranger Bob Foote said the camp, which is open to the public April through October except for five weeks in June and July when girls’ summer camps are hosted, has a revolving “wish list” of equipment and improvements.
Foote said on that wish list now are more stand up paddleboards, more archery equipment and improvements to the lake’s dock area.
Camp Todd is located at 25012 Beauchamp Road, Denton.
Companies or groups that wish to donate can do that as well, by emailing Price at the above email address.
