Caroline Chamber of Commerce names new executive director
— The board of directors for the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce recently named Amy Kreiner permanent executive director, it was announced in a news release.
Kreiner had been serving as interim executive director since February, and has been with the chamber for 18 months.
“Amy exceeded expectations in her role as interim executive director,” said Steve Covey, president of the chamber and executive vice president of Choptank Transport. “She has brought tremendous energy and drive to the position. She has a lot of fresh ideas for the chamber, and we’re excited to see what she achieves for our members in this new role.”
During her tenure as interim executive director, Kreiner led several key initiatives, such as the launch of a rebranding effort, which included a new logo design incorporating the “You Belong Here” brand adopted by Caroline County Economic Development and the Caroline Office of Tourism. She also led a redesign of the chamber’s annual directory, resulting in a more modern look and improved organization and functionality.
In June, Kreiner successfully managed the chamber’s signature annual event, Paddlefest, which had record-setting attendance despite being rescheduled due to inclement weather. She also worked with the chamber’s scholarship committee to award the organization’s first two $1,000 scholarships to local students.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to grow the chamber,” said Kreiner. “We have a terrific, active board of directors. I love working with them and our other members to serve the business community of Caroline County.”
Kreiner said one of her top priorities is enhancing the benefits of chamber membership. She wants to add more value for businesses by leveraging chamber resources to help them with marketing and recruiting efforts. Kreiner is also interested in improving how information is communicated to members by revamping the chamber’s website and social media presence.
Prior to joining the chamber, Kreiner worked for the Caroline County commissioners’ office, which helped her develop an extensive network throughout the county. She also has broad marketing and advertising sales experience in the publishing and business financial services industries.
Kreiner is an active member of Denton Rotary, where she serves as treasurer, and is a member of the Caroline County Wellness Coalition through the Health Department, as well a member of the Maryland Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. She also serves on the board of directors for the Caroline County Office of Tourism and on the advisory board for Imagination Library.
Kreiner lives in Denton with her husband, David, a lieutenant paramedic at Howard County Fire & Rescue, and three of her four children. Her oldest son is currently serving in the U.S. Navy.
