PRE­STON — Larry Orvil Blades, 64, was born April 18, 1953. He de­parted this life on Sun­day, Nov. 5, 2017, at the Univer­sity of Mary­land Shore Med­i­cal Cen­ter at Eas­ton, in Eas­ton, Md.

He was the son of the late Orville Lee Blades and the late Louise Jeanette Christo­pher. He mar­ried the love of his life, Rose Mary Woot­ers, on July 3, 1971.

He was em­ployed by the Caro­line County Road De­part­ment where he was a heavy ma­chin­ery op­er­a­tor for over 40 years. He loved spend­ing time out­doors. He en­joyed camp­ing, fish­ing, cut­ting grass, and grow­ing all types of fruit and veg­eta­bles in his gar­den. He also en­joyed paint­ing fig­ures for his wife.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Rose Mary Blades; a daugh­ter, Lisa Ball and her hus­band Terry; two grand­chil­dren: Kevin “Zachary” Ball; Kat­lyn Ball; three great grand­chil­dren: Khylee Fel­gen­hour, Jor­dan Belote, Ad­di­son Faith; two brothers: Dorsey Blades and his wife Mariam; Robert Blades and his wife Emily; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

A Me­mo­rial Ser­vice was held at 7 p.m. on Fri­day, Nov. 10, at Framp­tom Fu­neral Home in Fed­er­als­burg, Md., with Rev­erend Danny Ash­ley of­fi­ci­at­ing. A vis­i­ta­tion was held from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the start of the ser­vice.
