26th Com­mu­nity Thanksgiving meal set for Nov. 23 in Den­ton

DEN­TON — The 26th an­nual Thanksgiving Day Com­mu­nity Din­ner will be held Thurs­day, Nov. 23, with the goal to serve serve 1,100 meals.

The din­ner is spon­sored by Neigh­bors United To Serve (NUTS) and hosted by St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 5th and Franklin streets, Den­ton.

Serv­ing any­one and ev­ery­one, the free-of-charge, no­ques­tions-asked, tra­di­tional, home-cooked, roasted turkey din­ners with all the trim­mings are made pos­si­ble en­tirely by do­na­tions from scores of Caro­line County res­i­dents.

The reser­va­tion dead­line is Mon­day, Nov. 20, or when reser­va­tions reach 1,100 meals.

Food prepa­ra­tion will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Nov. 22, at St. Luke’s Church.

Thurs­day, Nov. 23, food pack­ag­ing for de­liv­ery will be from 6 to 9 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church in Den­ton. Meal pick­ups at Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church in Mary­del will be 8:30 to 9 a.m.

Please note that this year there will be no sit-down meal at St. Luke’s and nei­ther will meals be pre­pared for car­ry­out pick-up at St. Luke’s.

The min­istry’s ser­vant vol­un­teers in­clude mem­bers of lo­cal churches, schools, char­i­ties and civic or­ga­ni­za­tions.
