CAM­BRIDGE — A Hurlock man, ac­cused of com­mit­ting a string of armed rob­beries on the Mid-Shore, is in cus­tody af­ter be­ing ar­rested by deputies with the Dorch­ester County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

James Quin­ton Thomas, 34, of the 5000 block of Wil­liams­burg Church Road, has been charged in Caro­line, Dorch­ester and Tal­bot counties, ac­cord­ing to the Dorch­ester County Sher­iff’s Of­fice. He was ar­rested on Fri­day, Nov. 3. Po­lice said Thomas was shot three times on Satur­day, Oct. 28, near Hurlock. The Oct. 28 shoot­ing re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Thomas is ac­cused of armed rob­bery at the Shore Stop in Pre­ston on Thurs­day, Oct. 26. In the case, he is charged with armed rob­bery, first-de­gree as­sault, theft be­tween $100 and $1,500, reck­less en­dan­ger­ment, use of a firearm in the com­mis­sion of a vi­o­lent crime, hand­gun in ve­hi­cle, hand­gun on per­son, pos­ses­sion of an il­le­gal firearm and two counts of forgery.

Thomas also is ac­cused of armed rob­bery on Fri­day, Oct. 27, in the 5000 block of Mt. Zion Road near Hurlock.

In that case, Thomas is charged with armed rob­bery, use of a firearm in the com­mis­sion of a vi­o­lent crime, pos­ses­sion of a dan­ger­ous weapon, first-de­gree as­sault, reck­less en­dan­ger­ment and theft less than $100.

Later on Oct. 27, Thomas is ac­cused of com­mit­ting a home in­va­sion in the 7000 block of Wil­liams­burg Church Road near Hurlock. For the home in­va­sion case, he is charged with home in­va­sion, three counts of first-de­gree as­sault, three counts of sec­ond-de­gree as­sault, three counts of reck­less en­dan­ger­ment, use of a firearm in the com­mis­sion of a vi­o­lent crime, hand­gun on per­son and theft less than $100.

Ac­cord­ing to charg­ing doc­u­ments, the Caro­line County Sher­iff’s Of­fice con­nected Thomas to an Oct. 21 rob­bery in the 400 block of Dover Street in Eas­ton. Thomas was se­quen­tially charged with rob­bery, sec­ond-de­gree as­sault and theft of less than $100 for the Eas­ton case.

Po­lice said video footage showed a black man grab items from a woman and then run south of Hig­gins Street. Po­lice said video footage showed the same man exit a dark Honda Ac­cord near Su­per Soda prior to the rob­bery.

The Caro­line County Sher­iff’s Of­fice be­gan in­ves­ti­gat­ing Thomas when deputies re­sponded to the Shore Stop at 233 Main St. in Pre­ston at about 9 p.m. Thurs­day, Oct. 26.

Ac­cord­ing to charg­ing doc­u­ments, a black man with hair to his shoul­ders en­tered the store and at­tempted to pur­chase cig­a­rettes with a bad check. Po­lice said when the man was told about the check, he went back to his car, came back in with a hand­gun, tak­ing cig­a­rettes and cash. Po­lice said the man fled the scene in a dark car.
