Historical Society to celebrate Heritage Day
FEDERALSBURG — The Federalsburg Historical Society will host its annual Heritage Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at 100 Covey Williams Alley in Federalsburg.
Stop by the museum and enjoy the countless displays, shop for a unique gift or purchase tickets for the Historical Society’s annual Antique Trunk and “Historic Exeter” Candlelight Dinner raffles. This year’s annual Christmas ornament, “The Federalsburg Tastee Freez,” also will be making its debut, and a special exhibit of memorabilia from the original Tastee Freez will be on display.
Heritage Day will be featuring a selection of Charles M. Walker’s paintings for sale, which were donated from his estate by his family. Walker was a native of Federalsburg, and his artistic achievements were honored throughout the United States and attracted attention in Europe in the 1920s. What became of his art career is a mystery.
