ACTHA Honors Veterans

Trail Rider - - HOT ON THE TRAIL -

November 11th is Veterans Day, in observance of the signing of the armistice in 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, ending World War One.

The American Competitive Trail Horse Association is shooting for 111 events on Veterans Day weekend, with all proceeds (except direct administrative costs) going to Veteran Outreach Programs, such as Horses4Heroes.

“At each event, the Ride Host will tell us which organization to send the proceeds to, even if it’s a local need,” said ACTHA comptroller Ann Kinsey. “ACTHA will forward the proceeds as directed.”

Noted ACTHA chief operating officer Robin Tilghman: “ACTHA’s battle cry to their 1,000-plus Ride Hosts of record is, ‘Give of yourself on Saturday, and reap your reward on Sunday with another event for yourself,’ thus continuing our philosophy of commerce alongside charity.”
