If you time your visit right, you can catch Anza Days, the annual celebration and reenactment of the expedition’s ride from Arizona’s Tumacácori Mission to Tubac.
This year’s event takes place on October 15, 2016. You’ll see riders in authentic period costume as they mount up at the Fiesta Grounds north of the Tumacácori National Historical Park. At 10:45 a.m., riders proceed to the Tumacácori Mission Church for a blessing before setting off for Tubac.
Activities at the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park include folkloric dancing, living-history presentations, music, kids’ activities, and food vendors.
