Myriad Benefits

Trail Rider - - PURSUITS -

Benefits of membership are myriad, offering something for those who aim to make the equine industry a lifelong career or for riders who just want to know as much as possible as they pursue their favorite pastime. For all, benefits include: • Education. The list of educational products is extensive: from short YouTube videos or webinars created by CHA on various topics, to educational DVDs and how-to manuals, there’s much to explore. • Clinics. There are both Skills Workshops and Certification Clinics in the various disciplines available from CHA. These can be single-day or multiday events. Skills Workshops are open to all riders, whereas Certification Clinics are available only to those pursuing riding instructor or equine facility manager certification. You can also host a CHA clinic at your facility. • Certification. Because of its longevity in the industry, there are thousands of people holding CHA certification around the world. CHA certification is recognized internationally as a hallmark of excellence by consumers, industry professionals, and employers. CHA offers 80 to 100 certification clinics annually in the United States and Canada. Certification is available in English riding, jumping, Western riding, trail, driving, vaulting, and more. • Conferences. CHA offers both regional conferences — there are 11 regions — and its annual international conference. Conferences are open to the public. • Publications. The association produces how-to manuals, The Instructor (the official magazine of the CHA), and TEAMCHA, the newsletter for youth members. As part of the membership price, a year-long subscription to select equine publications — such as Active Interest Media’s The Trail Rider, EQUUS, and Stable Management — is included. • Business information. If you plan to make the equine industry your profession, CHA has information and contacts to teach you everything you need to know to run your own business, from accounting and marketing to insurance and advertising. It also makes available to the public its directory of certified instructors and accredited facilities around the world.
