ADIDAS ACERRA $420
With a performance aesthetic and personality to match, the Acerra proved capable of handling high speeds and huge landings. Usability of the dual Boa closure was simple, and testers found little need to retighten throughout the day, despite the ease of doing so. A stiff flex pattern and tall profile provided ample edge-to-edge drive that had riders railing hard turns and hammering hacks on transition. Pressure points were noted by some during break-in but dissipated to elimination with use. It’s nice to see adidas refine a high-end, supportive boot that will charge hard and hold up to the stress that comes with it.
RAD: Performance personality that matches its sporty aesthetic.
BAD: Some questioned the sole’s durability, though significant degradation wasn’t noted.
