The Outlets at Tejon

Classic high-end shopping in California’s interior

- BY LENORE GREINER

SURROUNDED BY THE SCENIC landscape of historic Tejon Ranch, The Outlets at Tejon offers travelers a massive array of shopping in 365,000 square feet. Located on 43 acres along Interstate 5 nearly midway between Santa Clarita and Bakersfield, the center is convenient to Los Angeles, Antelope Valley and the San Fernando Valley. And for those driving between Southern and Northern California, it’s a great place to stop for a break.

This mega-outlet center evokes the look and feel of the high-end outdoor-lifestyle shopping centers normally found in California’s upscale coastal communities.

Famous Brands

Shoppers can explore more than 60 top designer and value brands from fashion to footwear, jewelry to home goods and more, all offering savings up to 65 percent. Stroll among must-have brands such as Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Nike Factory Store, Coach Factory Store, H&M, Express, Old Navy, Columbia Sportswear and a new Bath and Body Works. New stores include Cosmetics Company Store and The Children’s Place. And Pottery Barn’s outlet has expanded to include Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teens.

Plan to browse in comfort, rain or shine. Among the open-air courtyards with relaxing furniture and curving retail promenades, attractive canopies throughout completely shade the center’s breezeways, complemented by energy-efficient fans.

For dining, you can grab a pizza, burger, coffee and more in the Hacienda Food Court or dine nearby in group-friendly, sitdown restaurants. You’ll also find convenient seating areas for resting weary feet, and large, plentiful restrooms.

Great for Kids, Pets

Kids from toddlers to eight-year-olds will love Camp Tejon, a play area inside the food court. There, they can tackle a climbable tower structure with a slide or two interactive wall puzzles in a fun sitting area. Or simply play on a butterfly, a bear cub or inside a climbable canoe. Parents will love the convenient power outlets for device charging.

Additionally, a pet-friendly atmosphere prevails at The Outlets at Tejon, which includes two grassy park areas and stores that welcome pets.

Since a day isn’t enough to shop all the stores, shoppers can plan an overnight at three nearby hotels; a new 80-room Hampton Inn stands within walking distance.

Before shopping, download a printable map or learn more about upcoming sales, events and discounts, including student and senior discounts, on the center’s website. Or stop by Guest Services or download the Outlets at Tejon app for deals and news such as events, new stores, center hours and more. You can even win prizes instantly. Gift cards to the center are now available for purchase, and the center offers electric vehicle stations.
