Man shot in the back after fight at south tulsa apartment
A man was shot in the back during an altercation with his roommate outside a south Tulsa apartment complex early Saturday, police said.
Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 7900 block of East 60th Place about 12:55 a.m. in response to reports of a man in his 20s who had been shot, Cpl. Shawn McGeough said in a news release.
The wounded man's sister reportedly drove him to Saint Francis Hospital before police arrived, McGeough said.
Statements provided to police indicated that the man was in a fist fight with his roommate.
After the fight ended, someone fired a shot that struck the man in the lower back, according to McGeough.
During an interview at the hospital, the shooting victim told detectives he noticed “a male he recognized in the parking lot and that is who shot him,” police stated.
The victim, whose name was not released, is expected to survive, police said.
