Didn't re­mem­ber in No­vem­ber

There seemed to be wide­spread en­thu­si­asm and sup­port for Ok­la­homa teach­ers last spring when the teacher strike made na­tional news. So, what hap­pened to that sup­port when we so bla­tantly dis­re­garded teach­ers in our re­cent elec­tions?

My guess is trib­al­ism. The news re­ported a full 64 per­cent of Repub­li­cans voted straight- party ticket with­out con­sid­er­a­tion for our teach­ers. The teach­ers' over­all sup­port leaned to Democrats Drew Ed­mond­son for gover­nor; Tim Gilpin for the 1st Dis­trict U.S. Congress, and John Cox for state su­per­in­ten­dent.

All three were strongly in the teach­ers' cor­ner and were de­ci­sively de­feated.
