STILLWATER — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team hung on to win its season opener Friday, escaping with a 62-60 victory over Arkansas State at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Braxtin Miller hit two 3-pointers to extend the OSU lead to 49-38 early in the fourth quarter. She connected on another 3 with five minutes to go to push the margin to 54-38.
With 19 seconds remaining, the Red Wolves sank a 3-pointer to get within 60-57 and then cut the deficit to one point with six seconds to go after two free throws.
Sophomore Jaden Hobbs made a free throw with 5 seconds left to push the lead back to two.
Miller matched her career high with 23 points, and LaTashia Jones added 10 points and 21 rebounds.
