LAW­SUIT EYES L.L. BEAN’S NEW RE­TURN POL­ICY

An un­happy cus­tomer is su­ing L.L. Bean over its new re­turn pol­icy. The plain­tiff, Vic­tor Bondi, is seek­ing clas­s­ac­tion sta­tus for the law­suit filed Mon­day, which seeks un­spec­i­fied dam­ages or an or­der that L.L. Bean honor the pre­vi­ous war­ranty. The law­suit con­tends cus­tomers bought items be­cause of L.L. Bean’s un­lim­ited “sat­is­fac­tion” guar­an­tee. The Maine-based re­tailer an­nounced last week it’s im­pos­ing a one-year limit for most re­turns be­cause it says peo­ple are abus­ing the sys­tem.
