BILLS, 23-13

USA TODAY Sports Weekly - - NL WEST - Bills WR Jordan Matthews.

Consensus line: Bills by 8 Prediction: RB LeSean McCoy is the best player on either roster, so look for the Bills to ride him early and often in this battle of potential AFC East cellar dwellers. He has looked sensational in preseason practices and games, running like he did a few years ago when he led the league in rushing. WR Jordan Mat-

thews was a productive receiver in Philadelphia and should be a favorite target from the start. Buffalo’s defense seems improved and should be able to contain Jets RBs Matt Forte and Bilal Powell while shutting down the passing game. MLB Preston Brown has led Buffalo in tackles in his first three seasons and appears ready for a Pro Bowl year.

uSTART: Jets RB Bilal Powell. Fresh off a strong preseason, Powell should have no problem dismantling a Bills defense that ranked 29th in the NFL against the run. Look for Powell to also be a viable threat in the Jets’ passing game.

uSIT: Matthews is dealing with a chest issue and is no guarantee to play. Even if he does, he has little rapport with the Bills offense, and the Jets secondary improved toward the end of 2016.
