CHARGERS, 30-27

USA TODAY Sports Weekly - - WEEK 2 MATCH UP - Dolphins QB Jay Cutler.

Consensus line: Pending Prediction: The Dolphins lead the regular-season series 15-13, and the teams have split four playoff games. They have played in each of the last four seasons and Miami has won three, including 31-24 in San Diego last season. In that four-year stretch, the Chargers’ win was at home in 2015, 30-14. The 1981 play-

off game was one of the most memorable in NFL history; the Chargers won in the stifling Miami heat and humidity, 41-38 in overtime. This matchup has unusual variables: The Dolphins’ opener was postponed by Hurricane Irma, and the Chargers are coming off a road Monday night game in the high altitude of Denver and also will be in their new city.

uSTART: Chargers QB Philip Rivers. The Dolphins allowed 30 passing touchdowns in 2016 and will have trouble containing WRs Keenan Allen and Tyrell Williams and TEs Hunter Henry and Antonio Gates.

uSIT: The Chargers had one of the most stubborn secondaries inside the red zone a year ago and should be able to contain the Dolphins’ receivers. Even if Cutler makes a few big plays, he’s notorious for turning over the football.
