SEAHAWKS, 23-20

USA TODAY Sports Weekly - - WEEK 5 MATCHUP - Rams QB Jared Goff.

Consensus line: Rams by 2 Prediction: Picking against the Rams in this game has been a foolish proposition in recent years, and signs are pointing toward another Seattle road loss this time. That Los Angeles has a legitimate passing game and several targets for QB Jared Goff only adds to the Rams’ case. But the Seahawks typically

start turning the corner in October, and the second half of last week’s game showed signs of a Seattle team that’s ready to begin playing like a Super Bowl contender. The Seahawks will be motivated by their three-year road losing streak in this series, and they don’t want to fall two games back in the NFC West. It’s their turn to pull off a surprise.

uSTART: Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy. He took advantage of a Chris Carson injury to run for 52 yards on 11 carries in a Week 4 victory. With Carson expected to miss significant time, Lacy should see double-figure touches moving forward.

uSIT: Goff has defied odds with his hot start. He has seven touchdown passes against one interception through four games. Expect a reality check against the Seahawks’ fourth-ranked pass defense.
