PATRIOTS, 30-16

USA TODAY Sports Weekly - - LEADING OFF - Jets RB Elijah McGuire.

Consensus line: Patriots by 10 Prediction: Before the season, there were predictions of the Patriots going undefeated and the Jets going winless. So much for predictions. Each team is 3-2 and shares first place in the AFC East with the Buffalo Bills. During consecutive wins against Miami, Jacksonville and Cleveland, the Jets have relied

on their defense, special teams and their ground game — though they had a tough day running the ball vs. the Browns. QB Tom Brady has been superb, keeping the Patriots afloat while they attempt to get their defense straightened out. Divisional familiarity should keep this game close, but the Patriots have too much firepower for the Jets to keep pace.

uSTART: Patriots RB Mike Gillislee. It’s been three weeks since Gillislee found the end zone, however that should change in Week 6. Gillislee is proving to be the Patriots’ lead back, and he should be able to punch in a touchdown or two against the Jets’ soft run defense.

uSIT: While the value of McGuire depends on the health of Bilal Powell and Matt Forte, this is still a tough spot. After a big Week 4, McGuire could muster only 30 yards on 13 touches in Week 5.
