The Philadel­phia Ea­gles are sit­ting atop the NFC East with a cozy three-game lead through the mid­way point of the 2017 NFL sea­son.

The bet­ter news for Ea­gles fans is the fact that since 1990, 89.5% of teams (77 of 86) that started the sea­son 6-1 or bet­ter have made the play­offs. Twenty-seven of those 77 ad­vanced to the Su­per Bowl. Four­teen of those teams won it.

And the last time Philadel­phia started a sea­son 7-1, in 2004, it made it to the Su­per Bowl.
