Storyline of the week
Jags lose Lee: WR Marqise Lee is out for the season after injuring his knee last weekend. Lee, 26, suffered the injury in the first quarter of a game against the Falcons after taking a helmet shot from DB Damontae Kazee. The Jaguars signed WR Donte Moncrief this offseason and drafted D.J. Chark in the second round. Chark has been the Jags’ most impressive rookie in camp. WR Keelan Cole also had a great camp, while the team also has second-year WR Dede Westbrook, a high-flying player from Oklahoma. Head coach Doug Marrone did not rule out signing a free agent, including Dez Bryant.
Sixth-round QB Tanner Lee has struggled for most of the preseason. However, he’ll see plenty of playing time against the Buccaneers to try to make a lasting impression. The Jags are unlikely to keep three quarterbacks, so with Cody Kessler established as their No. 2, Lee ultimately will be fighting for a shot on the practice squad.
