CHRISTIAN SIRIANO

- — Elysa Gardner

THE LOOK

Early offerings included a clay-colored, lux faux-chinchilla halter dress, a white textured cotton trench and an ivory metallic gown with a plunging neckline. Blush, sand and khaki also were prominent, with flashes of black and gold popping up. Near the end the crowd was greeted with a burst of brighter hues: aqua, peach, canary yellow, mint green. The fabric was sumptuous silk, the designs draped and adorned with head scarves.

THE INSPIRATION

Backstage, Siriano explained that he had imagined a woman traveling to various cities. “It was more about the journey,” Siriano said, explaining he had envisioned her culling “different things from different places: Casablanca, Marrakesh, all different architecture there. We did a lot of the textures based on Moroccan wedding blankets.”
