The BET Awards nabbed 3.8 MILLION viewers, tops on cable for the week but down from last year’s 4.5 million. (Viacom says a total of 5.8 million watched on its nine-network simulcast.) And Starz’s competing fourth-season opener of Power fell to 1.7 MILLION, down from 2.3 million for last summer’s opener.

SUMMER STARTS

Premieres continued with OWN’s Queen Sugar ( 2.3 MILLION same-day viewers Tuesday); NBC’s Little Big Shots: Forever Young ( 7.4 MILLION Wednesday); ABC’s Boy Band (a weak 2.9 MILLION) and The Gong Show ( 3.9 MILLION) both Thursday.

END OF THE ROAD

FX’s third-season closer of Fargo claimed 1.2 MILLION same-day viewers Wednesday, down from 1.8 million for Season 2’s finish. NatGeo’s Genius wrapped up with 1 MILLION Tuesday.
