TROPICAL SYSTEM EXPECTED TO FORM IN ATLANTIC

- Staff and wire reports

Forecasters are keeping a close eye on a developing tropical system spinning in the central Atlantic Ocean.

There’s a 70% chance the cluster of storms will develop into a tropical depression or tropical storm within the next two days, the National Hurricane Center said.

It’s far too soon to determine whether it could eventually pose a threat to the mainland U.S., the Weather Channel said.

The system will be dubbed Tropical Storm Don if sustained winds reach 39 mph.
