MCCARRON WINS SENIOR PLAYERS CHAMPIONSH­IP

Langer to win the Constellat­ion Senior Players Championsh­ip in Owings Mills, Md. McCarron finished at 18-under-par 270 to beat Langer and Brandt Jobe by one shot. McCarron, 51, made up a six-shot deficit in the final round to capture his first major on the PGA Tour Champions. Seeking his third major win of the year, Langer had a one-shot lead be- fore dropping his tee shot in the water on No. 17. After taking the one-shot penalty, the 59-year-old German missed a 4-footer and made a double bogey. On 18, Langer lipped out a 6-foot birdie putt. He finished with a 73. McCarron got into contention with four birdies in a row on the front nine.
