SIMPSON EXHIBIT PLANNED

-

A week after O.J. Simpson was granted parole, a Los Angeles gallery announced plans for a Simpson-themed temporary museum that will be showcased next month. Chinatown’s Coagula Curatorial Gallery will host an “O.J. Simpson Museum” takeover Aug. 18-22, featuring 300 items, many of which date to Simpson’s murder trial. The exhibit will feature relics from the 1995 court case, Simpson board games, a Simpson library, sports memorabilia, interactive elements and a gift shop. A 1994 Ford Bronco — not the original Bronco — will be on display. According to website LAist, the Simpson exhibit will be curated by Adam Papagan, creator of The O.J. Tour. “Everyone knows the media version, but the O.J. Museum is the vernacular of the people,” Papagan told LAist. Coagula Curatorial gallerist Mat Gleason said the exhibit would feature a tribute to Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. He remained confident that the Simpson shrine would be considered art. “It’s totally within the purview of reflecting the times we live in, the culture we live in and the narrative of one person,” Gleason said.
