PANEL’S FOCUS: STABILIZING INSURANCE MARKET
Bipartisan talks are underway in Congress on hearings to stabilize the insurance marketplaces, even as President Trump is talking about pulling the plug on federal subsidies to insurers.
Sen. Lamar Alexander, RTenn., announced on Tuesday that the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which he chairs, will hold hearings starting Sept. 4 “so that Americans will be able to buy affordable health insurance.”
“If your house is on fire, you want to put out the fire, and the fire in this case is the individual health insurance market,” Alexander said.
