A’S PICK STADIUM SITE

The Athletics have picked land near Oakland’s Lake Merritt as the site for a new, privately financed ballpark. The team has played at the Coliseum since 1968. The Athletics and the Peralta Community College District, which owns the 13-acre site near Interstate 880 that the team is eyeing, will start negotiations.
