Nick Jonas’ ‘Find You’

USA TODAY US Edition - - LIFE - Maeve McDermott

After baring his soul making soulful R&B, Nick Jonas is seeking solace on the dance floor. On Thursday, Jonas debuted his latest single, Find You, on Apple’s Beats 1 with Zane Lowe. It’s the second taste of new music he’s shared with fans, after his May song Remember I Told You with Mike Posner. In a departure from the R&B leanings of his previous solo release, 2016’s Last Year Was Complicated, Find You’s moody synthpop sees Jonas fighting to nail down a flighty love affair. “I took a pill but it didn’t help me none,” he sings, before addressing the song ’s mysterious subject on the refrain, “I never really know just where to find you.” While Find You isn’t exactly a happy song, Jonas told Lowe that he’s more upbeat these days. “I think I’m in a happy place — last year was complicated,” he said, referencing the title of his previous record and calling it a “breakup album.” “This one’s about a lot more topics, there’s a real optimism in it,” he continued. “It’s some version of being in the middle and being content with life and living in the moment.”
