REDSKINS PUT CRAVENS ON SEASON-ENDING LIST
The Washington Redskins sent
Su’a Cravens a clear message. After the safety left the team Sept. 3 and teammates said he was contemplating retirement, Cravens was placed on the reserve/ left squad list Monday, closing the door on any possibility for him to play this season. “We sincerely hope that Su’a uses this time away from the club to reflect upon whether or not he’d like to resume his career in the National Football League in 2018,” the team said in a statement. Cravens, 22, has not publicly disclosed why. Before leaving the club, Cravens had been projected as a starter in coach Jay
Gruden’s defense. A secondround draft pick in 2016 out of Southern California, Cravens was spotted Saturday evening on the sideline of the Trojans’ victory against Texas in Los Angeles. Cravens appeared in 11 games last season and recorded 34 tackles, one sack and one interception.
