Fencing along the U.S.-Mexican border

The 2,000-mile border has fencing along 654 miles, 354 miles of which is designed to slow or deter pedestrian­s; the rest is vehicle barriers. PEDESTRIAN FENCES Meant to stop people from passing through, most of the pedestrian fencing is 12 to 18 feet high, typically anchored with a concrete foundation. There are three main types, with various combinatio­ns and hybrids.
