People are questioning why women are coming forward now to accuse Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual misconduct. They ask, why didn’t they speak earlier? A simple answer is based on what Moore, the thirtysomething, well-known local prosecutor, told one of the young girls he allegedly abused: “No one will ever believe you.”

In actuality, the timing of these claims is coincidental. These women feel emboldened by the countless others in politics and arts who have very recently been calling out their predators. If enough of them come forward in a much more enlightened era (despite those who are still living in the 1950s), now they can have support and the permission to request some form of justice.

Moore should not be dog catcher, nevermind a senator.

Take a good look at the depravity of the religious right wing in America. I thank Roy Moore and his followers for helping folks see through the sham of religion in America.

If this were Bill Clinton or Sen. Al Franken, would we be so forgiving? There’s a big difference here. There’s no real evidence of Moore’s guilt, whereas we had either pictures, fluids and other evidence belying the guilt of Franken and Clinton. You want us to condemn Moore? Show some proof !

To believe that all voters in Alabama are accepting of this behavior is doing them an injustice.
