Don’t forget about Trump’s travel ban

It’s unfortunate to hear the Supreme Court granted a stay on lower courts blocking of President Trump’s travel ban. Disallowing citizens of eight countries from entering the U.S. doesn’t guarantee safety. In fact, it creates distrust and more animosity.

As an American-Muslim immigrant, I stand against this travel ban. The U.S. has provided me and my family the opportunity for an education, to work and the ability to succeed. This ban prevents individuals and families from accessing the opportunities I received. I urge Trump to reconsider his decision and the courts to stand firm. America should remain the land of freedom, as the Founding Fathers envisioned. Mehwish Pall Woodbridge, Va.
