The Four: Battle for Stardom Fox, 8 ET/PT

In the latest take on the reality singing competition, hosted by Fergie, Fox upends the formula by starting with four already-vetted contestants competing for the top prize. Each week the four singers will defend their spots against ambitious newcomers, and the last singer after six episodes will receive career guidance from the series’ panel of experts — artists DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, Sean “Diddy” Combs and record label executive Charlie Walk.

The Good Place NBC, 8:30 ET/PT

The afterlife sitcom returns from hiatus and kicks off the back half of its stellar second season. The winter premiere is just as fresh and funny as the fall episodes as Michael (Ted Danson) deals with the aftermath of a visit from his (literally) demonic boss, Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson).

Mom CBS, 9 ET/PT

Bonnie’s (Allison Janney) brother Ray (Leonard Roberts) returns after rejecting her and Christy’s (Anna Faris) help with his sobriety earlier this season. When he’s arrested, he asks Bonnie’s fiancé, Adam (William Fichtner), to bail him out instead of Bonnie, which causes more family drama. Christy has her own crisis to contend with when she’s fired from her job.
