Yankees to expand netting
The Yankees announced they will expand protective netting at Yankee Stadium in time for the 2018 opener, months after a young fan was critically injured by a foul ball. A 1-year-old girl suffered facial fractures and was hospitalized when a Todd Frazier foul ball struck her on Sept. 21. The Yankees initially balked at expanding the netting, saying their premium seat holders did not want a partly obstructed view. But on the final day of the season the team vowed to expand protections.
