IndyCar launches new car for 2018

The Verizon IndyCar Series unveiled its new 2018 car at the Detroit Auto Show, drawing rave reviews from reigning series champion Josef Newgarden.

“The car is so much more lively now,” said Newgarden, who tested it at Sebring International Speedway in Florida and Texas Motor Speedway. The new aero kit, which has less downforce, was developed to improve close racing and to enhance safety in the car. The new kit also features a sleeker look, reminiscent of Indy cars of the past.
