CHINA HIKES IMPORT FEES ON U.S. PORK, APPLES

The government of China’s President Xi Jinping responded to increased steel and aluminum trade tariffs from the Trump administra­tion by hiking import duties on U.S. pork, apples and other goods. China slapped 25% tariffs on U.S. pork and aluminum scrap and a 15% tariff on sparkling wine, steel pipe used by oil and gas companies and a variety of fruits and nuts.
