DRIED BEEF RECALLED FOR POSSIBLE CONTAMINAT­ION

The company that owns Birds Eye, Duncan Hines and Vlasic brands is recalling close to 32,500 pounds of dried beef due to possible contaminat­ion. Pinnacle Foods’ ready-to-eat dried, sliced beef by Armour Star may have been tainted by staphyloco­ccal enterotoxi­n and clostridia­l toxin. The nationwide recall is for 2.25-ounce and 4.5-ounce glass jars of Armour Ground & Formed Sliced Dried Beef with select January and April best-by dates. Anyone who bought product is urged to throw it out or return it.
