Body found in tent day after Indy
A man’s body was found Monday afternoon in a tent in one of the parking lots of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Speedway (Ind.) police said campers who had stayed after the Indianapolis 500 called police about 1:45 p.m. The cause of death is under investigation, Speedway police spokesperson Robert Dine said. He said the case is being handled as a death investigation, not a homicide. Temperatures on Monday reached 95 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. That followed temperatures in the 90s Sunday, which caused nearly 200 spectators to be treated for heat-related illness.
