MARCH HOME PRICES UP 6.8% AS CASE-SHILLER RISES

The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20city home price index, out Tuesday, rose 6.8% in March from a year earlier. The sharpest gains were in Seattle, Las Vegas and San Francisco, each of which reported rises in excess of 11%. The home price index is slightly higher than the 2006 peak, before the housing market and economy crashed.
