IPHONE CHANGE CREATES OBSTACLE FOR POLICE
An upcoming iPhone software update will shut down the Lightning port on devices after the phone has been locked for one hour. Police had been using a security loophole through the port to crack iPhones with the help of outside tech firms. Apple, in a statement to USA TODAY, said its move to close the security gap is to protect consumers, not to hinder police.
