Dustin Johnson cruises to third win

Top-ranked Dustin Johnson pulled away Sunday in the RBC Canadian Open in Oakville, Ontario, for his third victory of the season and 19th on the PGA Tour. Tied for the third-round lead with Kevin Tway, Byeong Hun An and Whee Kim, Johnson shot 6-underpar 66 for a three-stroke victory over Kim and An. Johnson finished at 23-under 265 at Glen Abbey. Kim and An each shot 69 in the round interrupte­d by a nearly 2-hour lightning delay.

❚ Miguel Angel Jimenez won the Senior British Open at St Andrews, edging defending champion Bernhard Langer by one shot. Jimenez shot a finalround 3-under 69 and ended on 12-under 276.

❚ Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn had six birdies in a final-round 5-under 66 to win the Ladies Scottish Open by one shot. The 22-year-old held off Australian Minjee Lee at Gullane to claim her 10th LPGA title and third this year. Jutanugarn finished on 13-under 271 to move to No. 1 in the world rankings.

❚ Bruce Lietzke, the fun-loving, fade-hitting 13time PGA Tour winner, died Saturday of brain cancer. He was 67. Lietzke played in the USA’s 1981 Ryder Cup victory in England and finished second to John Daly in the 1991 PGA Championsh­ip.
