Suspect in slaying of University of Iowa student pleads not guilty

The man accused of first-degree murder in the death of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts, 20, pleaded not guilty Wednesday. Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, appeared before District Judge Joel Yates in Poweshiek County, Iowa, and waived his right to have a trial within 90 days. His trial was set for for April 16.
