For last week’s cover story, Va­ri­ety took a deep dive into how Hol­ly­wood is try­ing to catch up with Net­flix in the race for con­sumers. Va­ri­ety.com read­ers weighed in.

Tee Kay says:

“I have con­cerns about the di­rect-to-con­sumer model that ev­ery­one is try­ing to cash in on. The rea­son for Net­flix’s suc­cess is not sim­ply their orig­i­nal con­tent, but a mix of con­tent sold to them from other com­pa­nies. This will not cre­ate Net­flix copy­cats that can com­pete in the ex­ist­ing mar­ket, as no one will have ac­cess to pop­u­lar con­tent from such a large amount of sources as Net­flix has had.”
