FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT, here’s what you do. Don’t assemble the crostini ahead. Just set out the little toasts and all of the dips, toppings, and garnishes in individual serving bowls. Then let your guests build their own canapés using what they like. Start with the dip. Spread a layer of Arugula, White Bean, or Sun-Dried Tomato Dip onto crostini.
Add a topping. Add Marinated Tomatoes, White Bean Salad, Mushroom Sauté, or Sautéed Red Peppers. Finish with a garnish. Top crostini with toasted pine nuts, shaved Parmesan, crumbled Gorgonzola, or chopped parsley.
