Popular Pigment

Victorian homeowners tend to be private about their color schemes, but Pete reveals that the most popular color choice for Victorian homes is… non-existent. “It’s more of an opinion,” he says. “Some colors become more popular during certain decades.”

Proven Products

Pete’s go-to brand is Benjamin Moore. “It is one of the best products on the market,” he says. “Bar none.” He also recommends the Benjamin Moore White Primer. “It’s the only primer I use on a home,” he says. “I have had phenomenal results.”

Prep Makes Perfect

Just as it’s important to take your time choosing colors, don’t skimp on the paint preparation. “If you don’t prepare the surface really well, the paint job isn’t going to last,” Pete says. “You need to remove the paint and sand the surfaces.”
