home, while still maintaining its antique feel. To put it in her own words, Teresa says, “We retained the charm while doing away with the doilies!”

FALL FESTIVITIES

During the fall, Savannah becomes a hotspot for all kinds of local culture and festivities. “Savannah is America’s most haunted city so of course we do Halloween up big,” Teresa says. During the season, there are fun Halloween activities such as costume design from the local Savannah College of Art and Design.

Furthermore, Savannah is home to more than 200 citywide festivals every year, and the fall is no exception, bringing forth a plethora of seasonal celebrations. This includes the Savannah Jazz Festival at the end of September, the SCAD Film Festival around Halloween, the local Rock-n-roll Marathon in November, and finally, the Savannah Food and Wine Festival, which Teresa describes as “a week not to be missed by anyone who has a passion for food and wine.”

TO EACH THEIR OWN

Between the two of them, Teresa and Michael have grown to adore the life of innkeeping, learning to love the home they’ve made into a bed and breakfast. For Teresa, her favorite part of the inn is the craftsmanship. She says she loves the ornate detail in the home, “whether it was in the curve of a staircase or the turretshape of a room, the long carefully honed floorboards of heart pine… Or for me, it was the fireplaces.”

On the other hand, Michael chooses to find his niche outside, becoming the in-house gardening expert. He has worked with farmers and landscapers his entire adult life, developing a deep connection to the land and the plants growing in it. He uses this honed knowledge to develop the inn’s back gardens, as well as an on-site herb garden perfect for seasoning breakfast meals.

Having lived in the home for 12 years now, the couple has mastered their craft, offering guests a unique and immersive experience. “We don't just make it our mission to provide an exceptional bed and breakfast experience,” Teresa says. “We work to ensure you see, taste and touch the best that Savannah has to offer. We are a package.”
